Foundations of Leadership: Provides a background and basis for all work in the PASC program. There is an emphasis on the political, social, and economic background of education; historical and philosophical forces giving rise to institutional practices that limit student academic and social success; theories of leadership; organizational and systems theory in education; current research and practice supporting the improvement of student achievement, including professional communities of practice; an introduction to the elements of cultural proficiency; and use of data and technology to analyze school and district performance.
